This bird built a nest in a persimmon tree in our garden this summer. Below are pictures of the nest and chicks.

The messy white stuff you see in the nest here is spider-web. The bird uses spider-web to bind the nest to the branch of the tree. This is clever nature technology since spider’s web is very strong, stronger than steel weight for weight compared. You can see baby chicks in the nest (although not too clearly) … they are about a week old.

The male and female parents take turns guarding the nest and bringing food.
