The first sunflower of the year.
This flower is a great subject for closer study. Look at the lines and patterns. This variety comes in redder hues. My aunt insisted it was not a sunflower, or that it must be burnt crisp in need of watering … she hadn’t seen sunflowers that weren’t yellow before!
