I love the way how flowers mix their colours sometimes when they cross in the wild. These grow wild in the yard downstairs. Usual colours are red, pink, purple or yellow. These are called Mirabilis jalapa or Four O’ Clocks or Marvels of Peru. It was called Four O’clock because the drop in temperature as evening approached made the flowers close. It was discovered by a French botanist Andre Michaux in 1792.
WARNING: The seeds (small, black, wrinkled surface similar to a pepper grain) are extremely poisonous.
