The “fuyo” is called the swamp ROSE mallow. There are two kinds grown here: the H. mutabilis and the H. moscheutos.

They are pollinated by hummingbirds and bees. Mallows are perenial. These means the flowers die, but the roots survive and grow new stems and flowers the next year.
