Nomura jellyfish (Echizen kurage)

A gigantic Nomura’s jellyfish, or echizen kurage, is pictured trying to escape from an attack by black scrapers in Wakasa Bay off the coast of Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture. As a considerable number of jellyfish have already been confirmed around the area, the local fishing industry is concerned about their influence on coastal fishing. (Mainichi)
