The butterfly below is the Blue Triangle Butterfly. There were lots of them flying and fleeting about on the banks and rocks but they sure were hard to photograph. They didn’t sit longer than a few seconds.

It was hard to photograph, I chased them for about half an hour. To see a beautiful close up of the Blue Triangle or Blue Bottle Butterfly, click here. But you can see from my photo that butterflies like sunny warm riverbanks. The blue or yellow butterflies eats leaves of kusu (or kudzu), tabu, inugashi, shirodamo plants/trees.
