Apart from the iris siberica which I spotted during winter in early February, all the other photos here were taken during the past week in April.


Shaga japonica iris, a very common wild iris that loves fringing ponds and lakes.

Kurista-ta iris is a popular small iris that is used in bonsai displays.

The purple blue irises below are called ayame in Japanese.
