Anemone

Snowdrop Anemone or Snowdrop  Windflower or Anemone Sylvestris. See this link

It’s different from the Anemone japonica which we have and which flowers from late summer through the fall.

A white anemone is quite as perfect as flowers come don’t you think.

Origin: Europe and Asia.

Story behind the Anemone: Anemone represents Refusal and Abandonment. “Go away!” According to various versions of Greek myths,  there had been a dispute between Aphrodite (goddess of love) and Persiphone (queen of the underworld) over the beautiful youth Adonis, and after Adonis died early in a boar hunt, an Anemone grew from his blood as Aphrodite grieved and cried over his dead body.
