Just about every garden in my neighborhood has one of these trees in bloom right now.
The world’s most expensive perfume is produced from the sweet smelling delicate flowers of the Osmanthus. Called Sweet olive/Fragrant Olive or kinmokusei in Japanese. Scientific name: Oleaceae fragrans var. aurantiacus. The flowers smell great and are a golden colour. However, there’s a lighter yellow or whiter version called gin-mokusei.
