Japan has a long history with the cotton industry and cotton production. And although it no longer produces cotton on any large scale, there are still farms that grow the cotton plant and gardeners maintains a place for the cotton plant in its garden planting tradition.
In the flowershops, they’re on sale with cottonballs on each twig – for some reason it’s supposed to make you feel Xmassy like snow decorations…
