Photographed at Yakushi ike Park.

When out of toilet paper, use….Butterburr or “fuki”. No, seriously…

The name of this plant, fuki, comes from the Japanese word which means to wipe (ふく), since it was supposedly also used as a substitute for toilet paper

The leaves of this plant are edible.
