Bug box: Common ringlet

Coenonympha genus: This is either the Coenonympha tullia/Common ringlets or the Coenonympha oedippus/Heath butterfly – they are found throughout Eurasia and northern Europe and from coast to coast in the northern U.S. and Canada. The number of “eye” spots are highly variable. Coenonympha butterfly species always settle with their wings in this position.
